Caribbean Union President Sets Spiritual Direction During First Staff Worship
Pastor Johnson Frederick urges employees to trust God, strengthen unity, and move forward with purpose.

Caribbean Union Conference President Pastor Johnson Frederick challenged employees to trust God’s leadership, strengthen unity, and embrace the opportunities ahead during his first devotional message at the Union’s Monday morning staff worship.
The service, held at the Caribbean Union Conference headquarters, marked Pastor Frederick’s first address to employees since his election during the Union’s 18th Constituency Session. Administrators, departmental directors, office staff, and newly appointed employees gathered both in person and virtually for prayer and worship before the start of the work week.
Preaching from 2 Kings 18, Pastor Frederick reflected on the life of King Hezekiah, drawing parallels between the challenges faced by Judah and those confronting the Caribbean Union Conference and its institutions today. He reminded staff that seasons of uncertainty also present opportunities for God to lead His people and accomplish His purposes.
“We are at an inflection point, a point of opportunity,” Pastor Frederick said. “Let us use this moment to move forward with purpose. Take time for reflection and introspection, allow God to fight our battles, and do not be afraid. Trust God and make the right moves.”
He encouraged employees to strengthen their spirit of teamwork, reflect on God’s leading, and remain committed to the Church’s mission.
“This is a time to reflect and renew, to celebrate God’s hand upon the Caribbean Union, and to remember that the Church is in good hands because it is in God’s hands,” he said.
During the worship service, Frederick also acknowledged the presence of new staff members and officially welcomed Dr. Kay White, the Caribbean Union’s Sabbath School and Personal Ministries and Community Services Director, expressing confidence in her ministry as the Union begins a new five-year term of service.
He concluded by reminding employees that every member of staff has an important role in advancing the Church's mission throughout the Union, urging them to build team spirit, work together, and remain confident that God will continue to lead His Church.
Pastor Frederick’s first devotional established a spiritual foundation for the new quinquennium, calling employees to face the future with faith, unity, and unwavering confidence in God’s leadership as they continue advancing the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church across the Caribbean Union territory.
